geez i already know myself... it's gonna be arriving neck-off, and i'm gonna have to decide to:
- either assemble it and play it to see how that neck plays, etc.
or
- disassemble it completely to check for legitimate parts, and start sanding the pickguard, etc...
decisions decisions...

going OT here just for a little while:
how many jazzmasters do you have this new one included?
do you collect them or play them all?
(curiosity killed the cat... i know...)

well i still have my CIJ '97 jazzer with quarter poundersbiro wrote:going OT here just for a little while:

(curiosity killed the cat... i know...)
the pink refin '64 with original AY pups
the squier-neck'd '69 with an AVRI and dimarzio pup (new neck almost finished)
the clean '78 with original pretty hot pups
...and this one that's arriving.
yes i pretty much play them all, except maybe the CIJ, which i admit keeping more for emotional reasons than any other thing.
they all have very different "personalities", if you know what i mean.
but yes, i do also identify myself a bit as a "collector", though -as many here know- i do not collect them for their value (in fact, i almost only keep the modded beat to shit beaters) in terms of $.
or, is all of this only a self-justification for my outta control GAS?

that fretboard is pretty flat. someone planed the hell out of it when they put on the new fretboard.
or so it would seem!

The cool thing about fretless is you can hit a note...and then renegotiate.

oh this one's gonna be fun!
i ran out of thinner, but so far the pickguard has been a surprise, revealing a layer of nice...
LEOPARD!!!
(it's coming off, too, no worries)
btw, i see what seems to be CAR everywhere under that black paint.
thinner does not much to it. now what?!
