I’m into that. Cool inlays. Nice colors. Staggered tuners.

Really cool inlays, but the headstock is atrocious. Someone should start a business selling glue-in de-uglifying kits for headstocks like this.

Re: Sire J5 Jazzmaster
I was fully prepared to dismiss this guitar as unnecessary in the market. I was gonna scoff at the weird looking trem etc. (They REALLY needed to put one last inlay at the first fret).
But then I remembered fender's pricing these days.
Yeah, no, this is actual news. Sire make quality stuff (purportedly). $600? That's only squire money (what is life now?). These, at least on specs are better than the MIM line and from what I've heard, Sire max out their attention to detail/QC as their competitive strategy, so these likely bury fender's offerings.
This is in all likely the best JM for the money out there currently.
I just hope they aren't using actual ebony... on anything, but let alone such cheap guitars.
This is the best color option IMO
Although, this color from the cheaper version is really rad.
I just find it it odd that they're pushing the Larry Carlton connection to sell jazzmasters. I wonder if they could've find an actual offset player to endorse these.
Overall though, I'm hype on these. Screw fender. If I were in the market, I'd seriously consider one of these.

If it wasn't for disappointment, I wouldn't have any appointments.

Looks pretty good, aside from the terrible headstock. There’s always got to be one shitty thing about any of these off brand models, doesn’t there?

Re: Sire J5 Jazzmaster
The headstock shape is pretty meh, that's to be expected on copies, I think they're still not allowed to use the fender shapes, and it's pretty hard to design something that doesn't look out of place. I don't think this one does, it's just boring, but it doesn't distract from the rest too much.
It's otherwise miles ahead from the other knockoffs, it doesn't look like someone drew the body but only half remembered it. There's so many cheap "ok" guitars these days though, I feel like buying a brand new fake jazzmaster is one of the least cool thing you could do

Re: Sire J5 Jazzmaster
Just came here to say that I like the headstock. If it can't be a classic, at least. It has a 60s Hanna-Barbera look, like the Jetsons or something. I can't explain this, but I think I must, for some weird reason, just like headstocks regardless of their shape. I wonder what is my problem? I HATE those headless guitars too, and have since I first saw them as a small child. The only popular one I don't like that I can think of is the tele shape, somehow it reminds me of testicles. And it always has. For some reason I also don't like headstocks that are angled back, I like them parallel to the fretboard. Someone should have a headstock poll.
Anyhow, these JMs looks pretty damn awesome to me! I wish they were jags.

I won't get one, but I like it, and how it's just different enough

Re: Sire J5 Jazzmaster
If I needed another guitar with JM pickups I would be well up for one of these.
Just waiting for the Marcus Miller V7 bass to come back into stock - Sire is leaving Fender Mexico and Squier in the dust at this point in time.
It's like they took a CV and put custom shop upgrades on it, at least in terms of materials and hardware - and yes, I'm even talking about the vibrato.
Apart from the headstock and lack of a rhythm circuit, it's like if I specced my own custom shop in terms of what I'd want a JM to be.

Does anyone know what the deal is with the tremolo cavity? Like could you sub in an AVRI/mastery?

Re: Sire J5 Jazzmaster
It does look good, and I kind of like the trem for its sixties janky look.
However, they really need to work on the copy on their website:
“A new branded vintage type bridge and a tremolo unit that rhythmically changes the volume and signal of the sound being produced”
“I’m just doing the blurb - what’s a tremolo?”
“I don’t know - use whatever is on Wikipedia”
